相信在台灣的大家一定也與我以前一樣，覺得運動場上遇到的問題時，如果要翻書找相關資料時，第一個遇到的難題就是台灣針對運動防護工作場域書寫的教科書真的不多，也沒有什麼翻譯版可以參閱。
因此今天我想介紹我在美國課堂上老師選用的書籍，也將美國運動防護員國家考試的參考書目列在下面。
這些書的作者多是 AT 背景，因此書裡頭所提出的方法與舉的例子都相當貼近真實工作的狀況，已經在從事臨床工作的夥伴看著實用，運動防護生或是正在準備證照考試的人，也可以利用這些書中的的狀況題，考考自己對相關知識的掌握程度。
美國運動防護聖經- Principles of Athletic Training: A Comprehensive-Based Approach. Prentice, W.E. Boston, MA: McGraw Hill.
這本基本上就是包山包海，每個部分（預防、急救、評估、治療、管理等等…）都有納入，基本上就是運動傷害防護學這堂課會上到的東西，是本不錯的起步書，我自己在準備美國 AT考試時，就是用這本教科書當成導讀表，讀到某個部分時，例如熱疾病的處理，就提醒我要去翻閱講得更詳細或是最新發表出的資訊（比方說 NATA立場聲明），用這個方式將書讀完後，運動防護的方方面面也大概走過一回了。
運動員的骨骼肌肉傷害評估 Examination of Orthopedic and Athletic Injuries. Starkey, C. et al. Philadelphia, PA: F.A. Davis Company.
這本的裡頭介紹的評估就相當詳細，也會把相關傷害放在一起比較，各種測試的步驟也會以圖片說明，更值得推薦的是它有將測試的敏感度與效度等等研究數據呈現出來，對在場上分秒必爭須馬上做出判斷的 AT 們來說相當值得參考。
骨骼肌肉傷害的運動治療 Therapeutic Exercise for Musculoskeletal Injuries. Houglum, P.A. Champaign, IL: Human Kinetics
這本書裡將不少常用的運動治療的概念做詳盡的介紹，對想紮實自己基礎知識的夥伴，極力推薦。
儀器治療 Therapeutic Modalities : The Art and Science. David O. Draper; Kenneth L. Knight, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins
若你想找的是像操作手冊的參考書，這本書絕對可以滿足你的需求，這也是目前我教課的主要參考書。除了實際操作的部分外，裡頭也將各種治療儀器的原理用很淺顯易懂的方式介紹，裡頭的疼痛理論與電療的部分相當值得一看。
但提醒大家，美國的 AT 是可以使用光電等儀器的，這與台灣的規範不同，請在台灣工作的各位酌情參閱那些章節，選擇我們臨床可合法使用的冷熱與徒手治療詳細閱讀，again，很棒的一本書。
運動防護管理 Management Strategies in Athletic Training. Ray, R. Champaign, IL: Human Kinetics.
裡面包含了許多行政管理的介紹，之前分享的防護室設計規劃設計個舒適安全的運動防護室就是從這本摘錄出來的，裡頭也涵蓋了法律責任、道德、隱私權、運動前身體檢查等等有趣的議題。
運動場上非骨骼肌肉的疾病-病理學與藥學 Clinical Pathology for Athletic Trainers : Recognizing Systemic Disease . Daniel P. O’Connor; A. Louise Fincher,
這個部分在台灣 AT 的養成過程中是較缺乏的，但的確在真實工作中，我們會遇到的問題不只是骨骼肌肉傷害而已，針對糖尿病運動員、氣喘、心臟疾病、腸胃道、眼、耳鼻喉等等其他身體系統的疾病，我們需要有基本的敏感度，可以更有效及早偵測到選手的問題，並轉介給合適的科別。
我也在計畫寫一篇有關懷孕運動員的照護建議，主要內容就會是參考這本教科書。
給 AT 的心理社會介入與轉介指南 The Athletic Trainer’s Guide to Psychosocial Intervention and Referral. James Mensch; Gary M. Miller
AT 由於在第一線長時間照護運動員，常是健康照護團隊第一個發覺運動員心理健康出現狀況的人，這本書討論了許多與運動員心理健康相關議題，也給予明確的介入或轉介建議。
